Operation: Ocean Tiger IV
Our 37th Scenario Game
www.oapaintball.com

Sunday, May 3, 2009
Bowie, Maryland

More than $2,000 in total prizes will be drawn and awarded all day long, starting at the beginning of the safety briefing.

Utilizing the format that has made our scenarios so successful, we have added even more missions and props, including tanks, pyrotechnics, smoke, artillery, multiple missions and props, along with Generals, Commanders, Engineers, and Medics.
The Scenario

Welcome to Operation: Ocean Tiger IV, our fourth enactment of the planned German invasion of Britain. Last year at Operation: Ocean Tiger III more than 400 players fought in one of the greatest “what if” battles of history and we expect a bigger turn out this year.

For the first hour of the game, the German side must establish a beachhead and until the do this, the Germans will be without the benefit of a Command Post. After the invasion, they will have the opportunity to select one from areas they control on the field. Do you have what it takes to “storm the beach” and establish a foothold? Maybe you want to defend the British homeland and repel the German invasion. Either way, you will have a great time as you relive history, not just read about it!
Storyline

In the early morning hours of September 15, 1940, Prime Minister Winston Churchill is hastily awakened. The month before, the German Luftwaffe (Air Force) began its expected air assault against Great Britain when Churchill refused to negotiate with Germany’s Führer (Leader) Adolf Hitler after England’s ally France surrendered. In the Cabinet War Rooms near Parliament, Churchill is brought into the map room to receive the much anticipated - albeit feared – news: The German Army had begun a seaborne assault against the British coastline with support from the Luftwaffe and paratrooper forces. The brunt of this seaborne assault was directed towards the British coastline between Dover and Bexhill. Churchill immediately authorized the implementation of the defense plans utilizing I Corps (Lieutenant-General M. G. H. Barker) and II Corps (Lieutenant-General Alan Brooke).

As the initial wave of German troops approached the British coast on the ships and landing barges of the Kriegsmarine (Navy), Field Marshal Gerd von Rundstedt could not help but wonder if the soldiers under his command were up to the daunting tasks outlined in Führer Directive 16 – Operation Sealion. The German OKH (Army HQ) ordered his troops to assault the shoreline utilizing a wide array of vessels that had been hastily assembled. His primary fear was that the Luftwaffe could not control the airspace overhead. Without air superiority, his troops would be under attack from the front and above. It would also limit re-supply and assistance from paratroop forces. As the first boats approached the coastline, the British spotlights illuminated them and tracer rounds crossed the beach. The decision point had arrived. Would Germany conquer the last remaining free nation in Europe?
